Make a Change to Grow…The Continual Path to Fulfillment

Staying open to the possibilities and being willing to change course or oneself to achieve something greater is so vital for success, and more importantly, fulfillment.

At 9 years old I was into competitive gymnastics. I wasn’t so great, I struggled to keep up, but I was committed and determined. It was in our obligatory ballet classes twice a week that I shined. The teacher suggested I concentrate on dance and introduced me to the idea of attending The National Ballet School of Canada. This school, at the time, was one of the top 3 or 4 dance schools in the world. This was a big deal, and it became a dream. I shifted my focus, and three years later, at 12, after hard work and sacrifice, I auditioned, was accepted and left home to study at NBS! This was my first lesson in letting go to let in; giving something up to follow a new path, but first I had to recognize the opportunity.

Yes, this is a child’s story, when possibilities often seem limitless and we have invested little in our short lives so naturally we are more flexible to change and the pain of sacrifice is fleeting...But what if we could always be willing to change, be able to recognize the inspiration of new possibility, and be motivated to accept the challenge.
